Access Ports

As an observer you will be concerned with primarily one access port, the wiring closet. It is where you will find the Reset button for the tracking motor. If the drive motor doesn't turn on the tracking toggle switch is turned on, the reset button will need to be pushed. It can be found part way up the spiral stairs on the pier (see Figure 1). Inside on the left near the fuse box, is the Reset button in Figure 2.

For historical purposes you will want to know about the port on the side of the telescope toward the bottom (Figure 3). That is where a photographic corrector lens was placed. It has not been installed in many years (decades?).
