Web/Video Cameras

There are two webcameras in the Nickel dome used for monitoring the state of the hardware in the dome. Viewing the images from these cameras is limited to Lick Observatory computers and approved computers off-site.

Video1 is mounted on the north wall of the dome and views the telescope and dome floor. Video2 is mounted so that observers can view the dome slit.

A GUI displaying the two images may be started with the command nickCams. A screenshot of the GUI is shown below.

Observers (particularly remote observers) must also monitor weather and observing conditions using the all-sky camera and hamcams.
